How far in advance should we book?
We recommend getting in touch as soon as your travel dates are confirmed, particularly for summer, Christmas and school holidays. Around 4–6 weeks in advance gives us more time to find the right person, although we can often help at shorter notice.
Can you help with a last-minute trip?
Yes. We regularly receive last-minute requests and will always check who is available. The more information you can give us about your dates, destination, children and the support you need, the quicker we can start the search. We can't guarantee availability, particularly during busy holiday periods.
Can we meet the nanny before confirming?
Yes. We want you to feel comfortable with the person travelling with or supporting your family. You'll have the opportunity to speak to suitable candidates before making a decision, usually by video call if you're overseas or travelling.
Who pays for flights, accommodation and travel expenses?
If the nanny is travelling with your family, the family covers the nanny's work-related travel costs, including flights or transport and suitable accommodation. Meals and other reasonable expenses incurred while working should also be agreed before the trip. We'll help make sure the practical arrangements are clear before the booking is confirmed.
What does a travel nanny cost?
The cost depends on the dates, destination, hours, number and ages of the children and what you need the nanny to do. Travel nanny pay is agreed for the individual booking, and additional costs may apply for travel days, overnight responsibility or extended hours. House of Yaya's agency fee is separate from the nanny's pay, and we'll explain the costs clearly before you confirm.
We're visiting London. Can you provide a nanny just while we're here?
Absolutely. Many of our families are visiting London from overseas and would rather arrange trusted childcare here than travel with their own nanny. We can find an experienced temporary nanny to support your family during your stay - whether you need help for a few days, several weeks or particular days and evenings.
