It started with
finding one Yaya.
Then realising how hard it was for other families to find the right person too.
House of Yaya grew from a family's own search for dependable childcare into a specialist placement agency connecting families with experienced Filipino nannies and household professionals.
A problem we understood because we'd lived it.
After two back-to-back pregnancies, founder Daneh found herself trying to find a reliable nanny — and frustrated by how difficult the search felt.
Eventually she found a Yaya who became an important part of family life. That experience led to a simple thought: there had to be a better way for families to meet good household professionals, and for good candidates to meet families who would value them.
House of Yaya was built from there.
A household placement
isn't a paper exercise.
The CV matters. The references matter. The practical details matter. But none of those alone tell you whether two people will work well together.
Experience first
We look at what a candidate has actually done and whether that experience is relevant to the role in front of us.
Fit is individual
Families have different rhythms. Candidates have different strengths and preferences. A good match has to make sense on both sides.
Clarity prevents problems
Hours, duties, salary, travel and expectations should be understood before somebody starts — not discovered afterwards.
Sometimes the candidate who looks perfect on paper isn't the person you click with.
And sometimes somebody less obvious on paper surprises everyone in the room.
Private household recruitment is unusually human. We want to make introductions with strong foundations, but we don't pretend an agency can manufacture chemistry.
The family meets the candidate. The candidate meets the family. Both sides decide whether it feels right.
It's our speciality — not a stereotype.
A network we know deeply
House of Yaya specialises in Filipino nannies and household professionals. That focus gives the agency a defined candidate community and experience matching people with UK and international private households.
Individual candidates may bring childcare, housekeeping, travel, newborn, cooking or other household experience depending on their actual work history.
Every candidate is still an individual
We don't assume somebody has a particular skill, personality or working style because they are Filipino. We look at their own experience, references, availability, expectations and the role they want next.
Specialism should make matching more informed — not make people interchangeable.
Good for the family.
Fair to the candidate.
We work for both sides: families who need someone they trust, and candidates who deserve a clear, fair role.
Respect the home
Private households need discretion, trust and people who understand that they are working inside somebody's everyday life.
Respect the work
Household professionals deserve clear duties, agreed hours, proper employment arrangements and a role that reflects what was discussed.
Respect the choice
A family can decide a candidate isn't right. A candidate can decide a household isn't right. Matching works better when both are allowed to be selective.
London-based. Wider in reach.
House of Yaya is based in London and works with families across the UK, with international placement activity including the UAE and live-in roles further afield.
The exact service, employment and immigration arrangements vary by country, so international searches should always be handled according to the requirements of the destination and the candidate's legal working status.
