How quickly can you find a temporary nanny?
It depends on your dates, location, hours and what you need. We can often help with short-notice and emergency cover, sometimes within 24-48 hours, subject to candidate availability. The more flexibility you have, the more quickly we’re usually able to find a suitable match.
How short can a temporary placement be?
Temporary placements can be anything from a single day to several months. Whether you need one-off childcare, holiday cover, help while your usual nanny is away or support for a longer period, tell us what you need and we’ll look for someone suitable.
Can temporary support become permanent?
Yes. Sometimes a temporary arrangement turns out to be a great long-term fit. If you and the candidate would like to make the arrangement permanent, just speak to us and we’ll guide you through the permanent placement process. Our usual permanent placement fee will apply.
Do temporary nannies have the same checks as permanent candidates?
We screen temporary candidates before introducing them to families, but the checks that can be completed will depend on the candidate and how quickly the booking is needed. As with permanent placements, references are generally taken up once there is genuine interest in a candidate. You can contact referees directly, or House of Yaya can do this on your behalf if you prefer.
How much does temporary placement cost?
House of Yaya charges an agency fee of £40 per day for temporary and babysitting bookings. This is separate from the nanny’s pay, which is agreed based on the role, hours, experience and requirements of the booking.
