For the beginning
of everything.
Experienced, practical support while you find your feet with a new baby.
The early weeks can be joyful, exhausting and completely unlike the routine that came before. House of Yaya can help families search for experienced newborn and maternity support suited to the hours, duration and kind of help they actually need.
Another capable pair of hands when everything is new.
Good maternity support should help your household feel calmer — not make you feel that there is one “right” way to parent.
The role may centre on practical newborn care, settling and routines, baby-related organisation or overnight support, depending on the candidate's experience and the family's brief.
Parents remain at the centre. The support should adapt to the family rather than the other way around.
Help where you
actually need it.
Newborn roles vary significantly. We define the responsibilities, schedule and required experience clearly before matching.
Newborn care
Practical care such as changing, dressing, soothing and supporting age-appropriate day-to-day routines.
Feeding support
Practical help around the family's chosen feeding routine within the caregiver's experience and non-medical scope.
Sleep & settling
Supporting the family's approach to settling and sleep, without presenting one method as right for every baby.
Baby organisation
Bottles and equipment, nursery organisation, baby's laundry and keeping everyday newborn essentials in order.
Overnight support
Where specifically agreed, experienced overnight help can give parents practical support through night-time care.
Older siblings
Depending on the role, support may also consider the practical needs of older children while the household adjusts.
Daytime, overnight or a defined period of support.
The right arrangement depends on what would genuinely make this stage easier.
Some families want concentrated help immediately after birth. Others need overnight support, daytime assistance or a longer transition into a permanent nanny arrangement.
Tell us the baby's age or expected arrival, the hours you are considering and the kind of experience that matters to you. We can shape the search from there.
Childcare support is not medical care.
Maternity / newborn support
A childcare and practical-support role for a newborn and family. Responsibilities should stay within the candidate's training, experience and agreed non-clinical scope.
Medical or clinical needs
If a parent or baby needs a clinical assessment, treatment or specialist medical care, that is for a midwife, doctor or nurse. A nanny does not replace that care.
Experience matters. So does the person in your home.
Newborn support can be unusually intimate. Calm communication and respect for the parents' choices matter alongside practical experience.
We look at the candidate's relevant newborn background, references, availability, preferred working pattern and approach — then consider whether that fits the way your family wants to be supported.
Where a family specifically wants a Filipino maternity nanny or newborn-experienced Filipino caregiver, House of Yaya's specialist candidate network can form part of that search.

Maternity support FAQs.
When should we start looking?
If your dates are predictable, beginning the conversation before the baby arrives gives more time to define the role and explore suitable candidate availability. Urgent requests can still be discussed, but availability varies.
Can someone support us overnight?
Overnight support may be possible where the candidate has appropriate newborn experience and the hours, rest arrangements and responsibilities are clearly agreed.
Is this the same as a midwife?
No. A maternity/newborn childcare role is not a substitute for a midwife, doctor, nurse or other regulated healthcare professional. Clinical questions and medical concerns should be directed to the appropriate healthcare service.
Can maternity support lead into a permanent nanny role?
It can, where the family's longer-term needs and the candidate's experience, availability and preferences align. The permanent role should still be defined separately.
Do you only provide Filipino maternity support?
Yes. Newborn and maternity support sits inside the same specialist network of experienced Filipino nannies and household professionals. We match the person to nights, feeds and the way your household is actually set up.
