A home that runs beautifully.
Without you having to run it.
The right housekeeper brings order, consistency and breathing room to everyday life.
House of Yaya matches families with experienced housekeepers who understand that a well-run home is about much more than cleaning.
Someone who understands how your home works.
The strongest housekeepers notice what needs doing before it becomes another thing on your list.
That may mean laundry and ironing, household organisation, changing beds, maintaining rooms, family cooking or practical errands — depending on the position.
We define those expectations clearly before the search begins, then look for someone with experience that genuinely matches the household.
What can a housekeeper do?
No two homes need exactly the same thing. The role should reflect your property, household, schedule and standards rather than a generic list of duties.
Household upkeep
Maintaining the home to an agreed standard, with attention to the way different rooms, finishes and belongings should be cared for.
Laundry & ironing
Family laundry, ironing, wardrobe organisation, bed linen and related household routines where required.
Organisation
Keeping cupboards, children's areas, household supplies and everyday spaces orderly and easy to manage.
Family cooking
Some housekeepers are confident family cooks. If cooking matters to you, we make it an explicit part of the search.
Practical errands
Appropriate household errands, shopping and practical support can be included where agreed as part of the role.
Working with others
For larger households, experience working alongside parents, nannies or other household staff may be important.
Good housekeeping should feel almost invisible.
Not because the work is invisible — but because the home simply works.
The laundry is moving. The rooms are cared for. Things are where they should be. Supplies don't mysteriously run out. The household has a rhythm without you having to manage every detail of it.
That combination of practical skill, consistency and initiative is what we look for.

Specialism helps us know where to look. Good recruitment is still about finding the right person.

Housekeeper FAQs.
What is the difference between a cleaner and a housekeeper?
A cleaner is generally focused on cleaning tasks during defined visits. A housekeeper may take broader ongoing responsibility for the smooth upkeep and organisation of a household, depending on the agreed role.
Can a housekeeper cook for the family?
Some candidates have strong family-cooking experience and some do not. If cooking is important, it should be specified during the search so relevant candidates can be matched.
Can a housekeeper help with children?
If regular childcare is a meaningful part of the position, it is usually clearer to define the role as a nanny-housekeeper and recruit for the relevant childcare experience.
Do you recruit live-in and live-out housekeepers?
Both arrangements may be recruited for, depending on the household, location, schedule and suitable candidate availability.
How do we decide what should be included in the job description?
We can help define the position around your property, household routine, working hours and priorities before candidate matching begins.
